Sony To Release Netbook Named VAIO W

After the overpriced VAIO P mini laptop (which is not a netbook), Sony finally decided to come out with a real netbook that's equipped with a standard netbook specs:

• 10.1-inch screen, 1366×768 resolution
• Intel Atom N280 1.66GHz
• 160GB HDD
• 1GB RAM
• webcam
• GMA 950/W-LAN
• Bluetooth
• 3.5-hour battery pack
• Windows XP Home Edition

According to Liliputing, the Sony VAIO W netbook will hit the U.S. in August with a starting price of $499. It may hit the Europe market sooner as Sony UK has already put up a product page for the VAIO W.
