Sony VAIO W series netbook is now availalble for pre-order on U.S. Sony Style website. As expected, it has a starting price of $499, and available in 3 different colors: pink brown and white. Besides a higher resolution screen (1366×768 pixels), the specs are similar to most standard netbooks out there: Intel Atom N280 1.66GHz, 160GB Hard Disk Drive, and 1GB DDR2 SDRAM.

More videos can be found on Youtube. While the Sony VAIO W is yet to release in the U.S., the folks at whatlaptop.co.uk has published the first review on this netbook. According to them, the color and contrast on VAIO W screen is excellent, and they also like the chiclet-style keyboard on this netbook. Check out the full review here.
